Applying beneficial nematodes, specifically Heterorhabditis bacteriophora, is an effective and environmentally friendly way to combat European Chafer Beetle larvae in your lawn. These microscopic roundworms actively seek out and infect the beetle grubs in the soil, killing them before they mature and cause further damage.

1) Follow the instructions on the package for mixing ratio. Following these instructions is crucial for even distribution.

2) You can apply the Nematodes using a watering can, hose-end sprayer or nematode applicator. Make sure to agitate the mixture frequently to keep the nematodes suspended in water.

3) Apply the mixture evenly over the infected areas. Ensure you cover the entire lawn where the chafer beetle larvae are present.

Post Application care:

1) After applying the nematodes water the area well to help them move through the soil and reach the chafer larvae. Avoid heavy watering that can wash them away.

2) Keep the soil moist for at least two weeks after the application. This helps nematodes establish themselves and effectively target the larvae.

Application time is late July through early August.

After application they must be watered in well. Please note: Some municipalities may have watering restrictions in place so a watering permit may be required. Check with your local municipality.

Please note the Nematodes have a shelf life and must be picked up within 1 week of their arrival in store.
