Prevention Plan for our Customers and Employees
Cedar Rim is committed to maintaining a safe environment for our customers and our employees as we transition to stage 3 of the BC Restart Plan.
Effective July 1, 2021 Cedar Rim is following the guidelines from WorkSafeBC and the Provincial Health Officer. Many of the items listed below will continue while others will transition to the recommended model.
For our valued Customers we are providing:
Touch-less entry with the installation of automatic doors
Supplying hand sanitizing stations at the entrance and throughout the store
Sanitizing our carts after each use
Encouraging social distancing throughout the nursery and retail greenhouse areas with posted signs
New greenhouses have been added to allow for better spacing and social distancing while shopping
Masks are mandatory in all indoor areas of the garden centre
Following posted WorkSafeBC occupancy limits for our Checkouts and Fashion & Giftware sections
A permanent checkout station has been created outside of the building for your convenience
Wipe down surfaces (counters, credit card machine) regularly
Plexiglass barriers have been installed at all cash stations and in Nursery Sales to protect both our customers and our employees
Our washrooms are open to the public and a strict cleaning schedule is maintained throughout the day to ensure your health and safety
For our dedicated staff we are ensuring:
Mask wearing and maintaining social distancing measures are followed by all staff in all areas of our facility
Employees regularly wash their hands and sanitize throughout the day
Employees who are not feeling well follow our policy to stay home, monitor their symptoms and to check in with their health care provider for further instructions. Even the common cold may require the employee to stay home for a minimum of 10 days and 14 days of self isolation if it is determined they have COVID-19
Employees who have travelled internationally, travelled to a Canadian hot spot or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 are to isolate for a minimum of 14 days even if they have had no symptoms themselves
Our lunch room area has been reduced to allow for 5 employees only at one time. All employees must follow social distancing measures when in the lunch room and when going about their daily duties. Employees are to wash their hands before and after their breaks.
We will adapt our approach as needed and we thank you for standing by us.
Be calm, be kind and most of all be safe. – Dr Bonnie Henry
